Partnership Overview

Joining the Global Carbon Management Academy as a Partner

This partnership overview outlines the structure and governance of a collaboration between the Global Carbon Management Academy (hereinafter the Academy) and partners (universities/research institutions).

Overview of the Global Management Academy:

The Academy is a centralized training and resource hub connecting carbon management researchers globally through expert contacts, training courses and research and career opportunities. Carbon management is a set of activities that aim to reduce, avoid, and remove greenhouse gas emissions to reach carbon neutrality and ultimately draw down the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These approaches are complementary and must be conducted simultaneously to be most effective.
The Academy was developed with the knowledge that carbon management cannot scale effectively without global collaboration and resource sharing, and the goal is for the platform to grow into a robust network of researchers advancing this critical field.
The Academy works with universities and research institutions around the world to:

  • Create a virtual directory of carbon management experts, available courses, jobs and careers.
  • Foster collaboration amongst universities and research institutions worldwide to exchange knowledge and form partnerships for non-commercial purposes.
  • Provide and/or promote virtual and in-person training through established programs or newly developed, audience-tailored course offerings.
Purpose of Partnership Overview

The broad objective of this partnership overview is to foster collaboration between partners and the Global Carbon Management Academy to advance knowledge, dialogue, and engagement between academic and research institutions and provide access to experts, training opportunities, and other resources for non-commercial scopes.
Partners specifically aim to contribute by performing the following activities for non-commercial purposes:

  • Providing periodic general and publicly available information on the Academy’s website, offerings and messaging
  • Sharing (where compatible with third parties’ rights, partner’s policies/practices and any applicable legislation) non-confidential information on experts, research projects, courses, jobs and events on offer (submitted via online forms).
  • Taking part in Academy-hosted course offerings (upon prior written agreement).
  • Availability to consider prospective outreach from users of the Academy’s website who may find partner contact details there.
  • Where possible identifying a point of contact (low time commitment) who can receive emails and requests from the Academy.

Cost, time commitment and duration:

There is no current or future cost to join the Academy, however, the Academy is a nonprofit and so relies on external funding but also in-kind support from partners. The time commitment, focused primarily on updating our website, is expected to be low, but partners are encouraged to provide in-kind support where able or possible to – including helping with outreach and materials, and as course instructors. There may be opportunities for experts/instructors from partner institutions to deliver course offerings. Since the Academy is a nonprofit, we may be able to financially support travel costs and any other pertinent costs (to be agreed in advance).

Logo use:

The partner grants the Academy permission to use its logo. The use of the partner’s logo is intended solely to reflect the institution’s collaboration in this effort to support carbon management knowledge sharing and capacity building. The website is publicly accessible so partners may view and request at any time changes (the latter to include the removal) to the use of the logo as it deems fit.

If further permission, information or requests are needed for logo use, please contact info@carbonfound.org or vanshika.goel@carbonfound.org.
